Ukraine is launching a new offensive in the Kursk in Russia

Ukraine has introduced a new offensive in Russia’s Kursk region to the Kremlin.

The attack looks to be an effort to seize new territory after Ukrainian troops swept across the border in a shock offensive in the same region in August, claiming control of almost 500 sq miles (around 1,300 sq km) and taking hundreds of prisoners of war.

The Kremlin has since resumed the component of its own land, but has struggled to completely expel the invading troops, including the deployment of the thousands of North Koreans in recent weeks.

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy has previously spoken of his plans to hold onto the territory and use it as a bargaining chip in potential peace talks.

In a statement, Russia’s Defense Ministry said Ukraine introduced the attack on Sunday morning with an attack organization consisting of two tanks, a Minership customs clearance and twelve armored fighting cars with paratroopers.

“The artillery and aviation from the north of the [Russian] forces defeated the attack of the armed forces of Ukraine,” he added, claiming that two Ukrainian attacks had been repulsed.

In a Telegram update, Andriy Kovalenko, head of Ukraine’s Centre for Countering Disinformation, said: “The Defence Forces are actively working. The situation in the Kursk region seems to be causing significant concern among the Russians, as they were unexpectedly attacked on several fronts.”

Andriy Yermak, head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office, said: “Kursk region, good news: Russia is getting what it deserves.”

The reports of the influential War bloggers of Russia, which help the Moscow War in Ukraine, have criticized for disorder and reverse, reported that the last Ukrainian attack had put the Russian forces in the defensive

“Despite the enemy’s tension, our sets heroically maintain the line,” said the Operativye Svodki channel (operational reports).

He said artillery and small arms battles were taking place, and Ukraine was Western-armored cars to bring in giant numbers of infantry.

The Ministry of Defense and bloggers said the fight was concentrated just north of a road that extends from Sudzha, near the border, to Kursk, the regional capital.

A prominent blogger, Yuri Podolyak, said it was probably a Ukrainian diversionary maneuver, perhaps to prepare for a strike over the brightness, extra west, and suggested civilians there and in some other town, Korenevo, evacuate.

The offensive follows otherwise for Ukraine. Since the raid of wonder in Russia in August, the army has been assaulted through a moral and one in the middle of a dam of Russian attacks.
