Graphic footage posted on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Telegram page on Wednesday showed bloodied civilians lying in a city street being treated by emergency services.
“There is nothing more brutal than aerial bombardment of a city, knowing that civilians will suffer,” Zelenskyy wrote in X.
The residential blocks of great height, a mall and infrastructure broke in the attack, said the office of the Attorney General of Ukraine on Wednesday. The rubble hit a tram and a bus with passengers inside, he added.
Regional governor Ivan Fedorov said Russian forces dropped guided bombs on a residential domain in the city in the middle of the afternoon, and that at least two residential buildings were hit in the attack.
The attack comes as Russia and Ukraine seek the assignment force ahead of U. S. President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20.
