Rescue operation ends in branch fire in southwest China

The rescue operation at the chimney of a branch in Zigong city, southwest China’s Sichuan province, ended at 3 a. m. on Thursday, according to the facilities of the central headquarters of Chimeneas y Rescate.

In total, 16 other people died and no more Americans were trapped.

The fireplace in the 14-story building, located in a high-tech domain of the city, was lit around 6 p. m. On Wednesday, there was a significant amount of heavy smoke at the scene.

According to the first elements of the investigation, the fire occurred through structural works.
