Netflix’s new number one movie poses the same question: where does it take place?

Another week, Netflix’s new number one movie tops the list. Find Me Falling is the most recent access to the streaming service’s list of original movies, but beyond the typical questions, like cast names, they all ask the same question.

“Where was it filmed?” That’s what everyone needs to know, based on trend insights based on Find Me Falling search queries. And it’s a valid question – just watch the trailer (embedded below) to see how remarkably beautiful the film’s setting and landscapes are.

The trailer also tells us loud and transparent that Find Me Falling is set in Cyprus. There are also no deceptions with other places to come: the film was in fact shot on the island, basically around the city of Pegeia and in the capital, Nicosia.

The latter is especially interesting, as the Republic of Cyprus has a border between the north and the south, with the northern territory being proclaimed the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. This border passes through Nicosia, allowing you to reach both sides of the island, which are noticeably different.

Find Me Falling is not based on a geopolitical story, at least not based on the country in which it takes place. The film follows an American rock star, “John”, played by Harry Connick Jr. , who takes a break from his career and revisits Cyprus because he met and fell in love with a local woman there (Sia, played by Agni Scott), who disappeared. Training

Imagine that the couple discovers each other in unforeseen circumstances, but things soon become more complicated, because also on the scene is a young woman, Melina, played by Ali Fumiko Whitney, who, apparently, is the couple’s daughter.

The short story earned mixed reviews, with aggregator Rotten Tomatoes giving it only 35% of reviews. However, audiences were much more receptive, with a score of 77% clearly finding affection for the film.

Or is this possibly due to the location of Find Me Falling? It transparently showcases the beauty of Cyprus on the big screen, while also showing why Netflix remains one of the most productive streaming platforms on the planet today. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but considering the bad summer weather, it’s clear why a lot of people want to know where and where it’s being filmed. . .
