MAGA Memecoin Soars as Donald Trump Wins Presidency Soars on Polymarket

Presidential candidate Donald Trump survived an assassination over the weekend, sparking a surge in memecoins and his chances of winning the 2024 election.

According to crypto site Polymarket, Trump has a 72% chance of winning the presidency lately, while Biden has only an 18% chance of winning.

Since the assassination attempt, Trump’s have increased significantly.

At the same time, MAGA (TRUMP), the largest Trump-inspired memecoin allocation on the market, is up 27% since the shooting and at one point up 81%. TRUMP has since calmed down and is trading at $8. 02 at the time of writing.

Trump, once a crypto skeptic, has turned his attention to technology, calling himself “the president of crypto” and profiting from much of the industry.

A recent vote through investment company Paradigm found that Trump’s pro-cryptocurrency stance is helping to win over the Republican electorate and that monetary and crypto freedom were a precedent for the overall conservative electorate in this election.

Trump himself is a cryptocurrency holder with a public wallet containing virtual assets worth approximately $10 million.

According to Arkham, the blockchain “deanonymizer,” Trump’s Ethereum (ETH) wallet currently holds $9. 85 million in cryptocurrency; his biggest share is the TRUMP tokens presented to him by the task.

At the end of July, Trump is expected to attend the Bitcoin 2024 convention in Nashville, Tennessee, as a speaker before the 20,000 attendees.

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will also speak at the conference, along with political commentator and comedian Russell Brand, ARK Invest CEO and founder Cathie Wood, MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor, former intelligence contractor-turned-whistleblower Edward Snowden, and Miller Value Partners.
