Former Arizona Wildcat point guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright has chosen to leave the Cheshire Phoenix and sign a contract with Saint-Quentin Basket-Ball in France’s Pro B League. Jackson-Cartwright appeared in 27 games (26 starts) and averaged 18.4 points, 7.2 assists and 2.9 steals per game in all competitions.
“I’d like to thank Nix Nation for showing up every game, home and way, giving 100 percent all in support,” Jackson-Cartwright said on the team’s official site. “A loyal fan base with a lot of passion, you all helped my teammates and I reach heights that not many expected us to amount to. I’m thankful to have been welcomed and loved by the community, I’ll never forget the smiles the many children and others put on my face.
“I also wanna thank Ben Thomas and James Brice for giving me an incredible opportunity and believing in my abilities. To the rest of Ben’s staff, trainers, volunteers, etc. your dedication and help to the Nix family was a big part of our success this season and won’t go unnoticed. To my teammates, it was a wild ride but we showed fight each step of the way and never gave up. I enjoyed going to war with all of you every game and will always remember the times we shared off the court as well.”
Jackson-Cartwright was named the British Basketball League’s Player of the Year by the British Journalists Association.
