(Reuters) – Ford Motor Co said Monday that it would deliver COVID-19 vaccines in place to its staff per hour and staff at production plants in 3 states, intensifying efforts for its coronavirus staff.
Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) and United Auto Workers (UAW) have secured contracts for vaccines at the company’s production facility in southeastern Michigan, Missouri and Ohio as of Monday, the automaker said.
“COVID-19 vaccines are a primary tool to help reduce the threat of infection, so we need to make sure our workers have vaccines,” dr. Francesca Litow, Medical Director, Ford.
Dearborn, Michigan-based company said it works with UAW and fitness service providers to administer doses of Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna (NASDAQ: MRNA) vaccines, and plans to expand on-site immunization elsewhere.
Ford said he would provide a virtual formula for making plans that would allow workers to sign up for an appointment. After the first injection, workers will be scheduled for a moment dose.
The automaker plans to continue the vaccination program in some places until June.
