According to the new laws, fair operating and monitoring situations want to be strengthened, especially in meat processing plants. [Tunnies EPA-EFE Document]

As reported Wednesday, Tunnies, Germany’s largest meat company, whose factory had been the scene of a major outbreak in late June, allegedly attempted to circumvent the final replacement in the law by creating 15 subsidiaries with fewer than 50 employees.

The German meat industry has been criticized for years for its low labour criteria and labour rights. Coronavirus groups in slaughterhouses now have the government with the opportunity to intervene. EurACTIV Germany reports.

Another primary outbreak of COVID-19 at Europe’s largest meat processing plant has led stakeholders to urge the European Commission to take swift action for industry personnel and stop the spread of the virus.
