Beyond the decade or more, European governments have tried the secret operations of influence of adversaries such as Russia and China.

Now, they have a very another challenge: repel the manifest efforts of Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s magician motion to the territory, the chosen leaders and train the reasons and parties very well.

Even before resuming the office, Trump threats, serious, no, to win the territory of NATO allies such as Canada and Denmark. And Mr. Musk, the largest monetary defender of the elected president, uses his social media platform X to bring the correct excessive election to the German party in the great party of the Center-Gauche Labor Party in Grande-Brittany.

It is not clear if Europe’s political immune system has the antibodies to defend against these new incursions.

This is not the first time that Trump’s best friend is looking to build a bridge with European law. In 2018 and 2019, Trump Stephen K. Bannon Advisor held meetings with politicians from all over Europe. But the political panorama is now very different. A senior official from the first Trump administration, who is in line for an even more senior role in the second, was blunt in his assessment: Europe, he said, has no idea what is coming its way.
