As Donald Trump takes the oath of office to begin his time as president, Trump’s circle of relatives will once again be in the spotlight.

Scandals are generally par for the course in powerful dynasties and while the president is the most famous—or infamous—member of his family, the Trumps are a large and diverse clan. Some love the spotlight, others keep a low profile. Here is a primer on Donald Trump’s family tree: his parents, four siblings, five children, and the nieces, nephews, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, and grandchildren in between.

Below, meet all of Donald Trump’s family members.

Fred Trump (born 1905, died 1999) was born in the Bronx to German immigrant parents. He worked in structure before raising his fortune in genuine ownership (it was his multi-million dollar loan that helped his greatest son, Donald, make this empire bigger than Manhattan). He started his Queens business with his mother Elizabeth in 1927 (his father Frederick died in the 1918 influenza pandemic), first calling it E. Trump and his formerly renowned Fred Trump Organizray

The Trump family’s penchant for scandals—and governmental investigations—seems to have originated with its patriarch. In 1927, Fred was arrested for participating in a Ku Klux Klan march in Queens. He was also investigated twice for profiteering, first by the Senate in 1954 and then by the State of New York in 1966. And not long after Donald joined the business in 1971, the two were sued by the Justice Department for violating the Fair Housing Act. There were several instances of tax fraud as well.

Fred’s authoritarian breeding taste is no secret, and despite its net value of $ 300 million, it is famous and reluctant to the ostentatious presentations of wealth, a quality that Donald did not inherit. Fred died in 1999 at 93 years of pneumonia. He had also fought against Alzheimer’s for six years.

Trump’s mother is Scottish immigrant Mary MacLeod (born 1912, died 2000). Mary was born on the Isle of Lewis, the largest of the Western Isles of Scotland. The youngest of ten children, she was raised in a Gaelic-speaking home. In 1930, the day after his 18th birthday, he left Glasgow, Scotland, for the United States. As the Scottish newspaper National points out, Mary “a poor immigrant who arrived in New York with only $50 in her purse and worked as a servant in the city for at least 4 years…”

While living in Queens with her sister, she met Fred Trump and they married in 1936. The Trumps had children: Maryanne, Fred Jr. , Elizabeth, Donald and Robert. (See below). Mary died in 2000 at the age of 88. .

Firstborn Maryanne Trump Barry (born 1937, died 2023), who is nine years older than Donald, a retired U. S. federal judge. U. S. In 1983, she appointed through President Reagan to the U. S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and then in 1993, President Bill Clinton appointed her to the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, where she served until her retirement in 2019. Her only son, David William Desmond (born 1960), from her first marriage, is a psychologist in New York City. Widowed in 2000 when her moment, lawyer John Joseph Barry, died.

In 2017, his niece Mary L. Trump (see below), the explosive Tell-All the Trump Family-hours of secretly recorded conversations with her aunt in which she can be heard criticizing President Trump. “His fucking tweet and lie, my God,” Barry says in a recording. “He has no principles.

Maryanne died in 2023 at the age of 86.

Fred Trump Jr. (b. 1938, d. 1981), the eldest Trump son had been Fred Sr.’s first choice to take over the family business, but ultimately proved a poor fit for that dream. He instead became a pilot, a career choice that resulted in ridicule from Fred Sr. and Donald. Eventually, Fred’s worsening alcoholism forced him to quit flying, move back in with his parents, and get a job doing maintenance work for his father’s company. He had two children, Fred Trump III (b. 1962) and Mary Trump (b. 1965, with his ex-wife Linda Clapp. Fred Jr. died in 1981, at age 42, of a heart attack brought on by his alcoholism.

Mary, Fred Jr.’s daughter, a clinical psychologist, published Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man, a book revealing several highly unflattering details about the Trump clan and all its dysfunction

It is not his first confrontation with his circle of relatives. In 1999, Mary and his brother Fred III filed a complaint after the death of their grandfather Fred Sr. when they discovered that they had been separated from their will. They alleged that Donald had taken the merit of his father’s Alzheimer’s disease to convince him to replace the document. In return, Donald and his brothers and sisters Maryanne and Robert left their niece and their nephew of the physical conditioning insurance plan of the relative circle. The case was resolved confidentially.

Mary stores a daughter with his ex-wife; Fred III is director of advertising for genuine real estate company Cushman

President Trump’s other older sister, Elizabeth Trump Grau (b. 1942), used to work at J.P. Morgan. She is married to documentary producer James Grau and the two live in Palm Beach. They have no children together.

She is the surviving sister of Donald Trump.

Robert Trump (born 1948, died 2020), the youngest of Donald’s brothers, had a close date with Donald. “He is not only my brother, he is my most productive friend,” said the president who, after his brother’s death in 2020, held the funeral at the White House.

Early in his career, Robert joined the business circle of relatives and rose up the ladder to one of the Trump Organization’s senior managers before retiring in Millbrook, New York.

She was married to corporate figure Blaine Beard (b. 1948) for 25 years and followed her son Christopher Hollister Retchin from a past marriage. They separated in 2006 and moved privately in 2010 after a long divorce battle. In 2020, in a time, in a time. Before his death, he married his longtime secretary, Ann Marie Pallan.

At 16, she ran like a style and in 1996, she emigrated to the United States. The reception took position in Mar-A-LaPass in Palm Beach and attended a long list of celebrities, adding to Hillary and Bill Clinton. A year later, he gave birth to his son, Barron (seeing under for more information about Barron).

After her husband moved into the White House in 2017, Melania and Barron chose to stay in their Trump Tower penthouse on Fifth Avenue. While the official reason for mother and son’s delayed move to D.C. was so Barron could finish the school year at NYC’s Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School, a book on the First Lady—The Art of Her Deal by Washington Post reporter Mary Jordan—alleges it was so Melania could renegotiate her prenup.

In 2024, she released a memoir, simply titled Melania, and there’s currently a documentary in the works about her.

Barron Trump (born in 2006), the only son of Donald and Melania, helps maintain the low profile of all Donald’s children. In 2024, he graduated at the Oxbridge Academy, near West Palm Beach, in Florida, and now healed the first year at the University of New York. “He is going very well. He loves his classes and teachers,” Melania said about his son. “It’s fine. It blooms and appreciates being in New York again.

They had 3 children: Donald Jr. , Eric and Ivanka (see below).

Ivana and Donald divorced in 1990, after Ivana encountered Donald’s mistress Marla Maples (see below) in Aspen. During a deposition related to their divorce, Ivana accused Donald of rape, though later she walked back the claim. The terms of their divorce had her sign a non-disclosure agreement. She remarried twice: to Riccardo Mazzucchelli in 1995 (they divorced in 1997) and to Italian actor and model Rossano Rubicondi in 2008 they divorced less than a year later, but dated on-again, off-again until 2019. Ivana died in 2022 at the age of 73, after suffering a forceful effect on wounds after falling down the stairs of her house in the Upper East Side.

“It saddens me to tell all those who enjoyed him, that there are many, that Ivana Trump died at his home in New York,” President Trump wrote at that time on social networks. “She was a wonderful, lovely woman, who led a wonderful and inspiring life. His pride and joy were his 3 children, Donald Jr. , Ivanka and Eric. I was very proud of them because we were all very proud of her.
